Elevating Work Platform (WP)

This course provides participants with the knowledge and skills to safely operate the elevating work platform in a safe and effective manner; it is based upon the requirements of the National Standard for Licensing Persons Performing High Risk Work which are the requirements for National Certification through WorkSafe Western Australia.  Successful completion of all requirements leads to the issues of a Statement of Attainment for TLIE3507C.

 

Course Objectives
The WP Operator course provides candidates with the appropriate skills and knowledge to:

  • Conduct pre-start and after start inspections of the equipment
  • Conduct site and operational safety checks prior to commencing equipment operations
  • Conduct equipment operations within the specified limits of the machine as laid down by the manufacturer
  • Apply effective productivity methods to a range of equipment activity requirements
  • Correctly park and shut-down the equipment so that it does not damage the equipment or that the equipment does not present a hazard to others
  • Conduct post-operation inspections of the equipment
  • Develop documentation that supports the organizations safety, maintenance and repair programs.
