Meeting Skills

This course is delivered in 1 day.  It is offered as a public course @ $235.10pp (usually held at our Henderson offices) or a corporate course @ $1074.25 plus $57.45 pp materials cost (for a group of up to 20 people who all work for same organisation/at a venue of your choosing).



This course deals with the principles of managing a meeting, relating this to the learner’s workplace practice and explores appropriate meeting structures, processes and strategies to achieve positive meeting outcomes.

Participants consider various types of meetings, how to clarify the meeting purpose and set an achievable agenda.

Topics covered include meeting facilitation styles, meeting preparation/organisation, meeting roles and responsibilities, such as facilitator/chairperson, Executive Officer, minute taker, participant. Participants will examine the features of effective meetings, strategies for dealing with difficult participants and conflict, communication techniques, group facilitation techniques, as well as how to manage competing stakeholder agendas. 

Other topics covered include: meeting protocols, Terms of Reference, reporting meeting outcomes.
