TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment

The TAE40110 - Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is designed to provide an entry level qualification to all users with a well designed set of foundation units that are the essential elements of what is needed as a trainer/assessor and a firm foundation on which to build further knowledge and skills. This qualification reflects the role of individuals delivering training and assessment services in the vocational education and training (VET) sector. The Certificate IV consists of 10 units packaged as: 7 core units PLUS 3 elective units.

The options available are:

  • full course for candidates with minimal training/assessing experience
  • Up-skilling course for holders of BSZ40198 and/or significant, recent training/assessing experience
  • Skills Recognition for people currently employed in a Cert IV level Trainer and Assessor role

 -  Full course - for candidates with minimal training/assessing experience

AITP's TAE40110 course (total of 10 units) is covered in a total of 9 days. It is delivered in 3 sections with gaps of time in between each section to allow for learners to integrate and apply the knowledge and skills they acquire throughout the course. While it is recommended that Sections be undertaken in order, the individual clusters are stand alone and can be undertaken in any sequence.

Cluster 1 Design & Develop Training Programs – 2 day practical workshop

Cluster 2 Plan, Organize and Deliver Training – 4 day practical workshop

Cluster 3 Workplace Assessor – 3 day practical workshop

Cluster 1 focuses on the skills required to design and develop training programs and covers the following units: TAEDES401A and TAEDES402A.

Cluster 2 focuses on planning, organizing and delivering training and covers the following units: TAEDEL301A2, TAEDEL401A; TAEDEL402A and BSBCMM401A2.

Cluster 3 focuses on assessing in the workplace and covers the following units: TAEASS401A; TAEASS402A; TAEASS403A and TAEASS301A2.

Elective units2 can be substituted with the following units: TAEDEL404A2; BSBRES401A2; TAEASS502A2.

Learners will be expected to attend all sessions, complete all tasks and activities during the courses. There are also activities to be completed outside of the course - these activities are aimed at allowing the learners to apply the course content in their own workplace environment. In addition to the face to face training and workshops, participants need to complete a set of practical exercises and questions as post-course application of knowledge and skills.

Cost of full course is $2500 – this covers attending all 3 clusters as detailed above.

-   Upskilling course (suitable for people who already hold BSZ40198 and/or significant, recent experience working with nationally recognised training

This 3 day program covers the gaps that exist between the outdated BSZ40198 qualification and what is required for the latest Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110).  Cost = $1350 per person (GST free) and this covers attendance for 3 days of facilitator-led training sessions, all materials, assessment of portfolios of evidence (2 submissions) and certification on successful completion of all requirements.

If this is not a suitable pathway for you then perhaps our 9 day program (covering the theory for the full TAE40110 – not just the gaps from BSZ98) is better suited. Ask us for the information about the full course.

 -  Skills Recognition - only suitable for people who are currently employed in a Cert IV level Trainer and Assessor role

To be successful in achieving RPL you must fulfil two requirements:

  1. You must be currently employed in a position that operates at Certificate IV level.
  2. You must be able to prove that you can meet the performance criteria for all units for which RPL is required.
Please contact our office on (08) 9437 2502 to ask for the information booklet about this process
